School Town is proud to announce the launch of its Media Library

May 15, 2009 – School Town is proud to announce the launch of its Media Library.

The School Town Media Library is a private media sharing site that allows students to upload and view media such as podcasts and videos.

The site lets students and teachers share media for classes and other school groups. Students upload their video for the teacher to review before publishing for the group to see. Users can assign categories and keyword tags to the media. Once a video is approved, other students can view, comment on and rate the video. Students can search the videos by popularity, date, category or keyword tag.

The site is integrated to the School Town 2.0 learning environment as an add-on module or can be used separately. “Our customers have been asking for a teacher moderated place to store media,” says Mike Kritzman, School Town’s President and CEO. “Our testing is complete and were taking the product to market. The response have been overwhelmingly positive!”

“We looked at some bolt-on options,” adds School Town’s CIO, Mark Ruesink. “In the end, it just made most sense to build a module that fully integrated with our existing features and functionality.”

The School Town Media wall is available as separate module for School Town or for use with other learning management sites.
